Finial Capital was one of the driving forces behind the creation and construction of a large-scale private school, which opened in August 2015 in Dubai.

Omar Danial’s lifelong interest in education led him to found Swiss Education Partners, a platform to support education projects in the UAE and its first flagship project, the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai. A Partnership with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) reinforced his vision to build a sustainable school for future generations on an eco-friendly campus designed by leading architects. His idea to bring Swissness - Switzerland and its values - to Dubai is not only visionary but is grounded in reality. The Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai is the first school in the GCC countries to provide a sustainable environmental architecture, a unique boarding experience for which Switzerland is internationally recognized, and above all a teaching methodology enabling students to achieve their highest potential as human beings and members of society.

Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, SISD

  • Finial Capital participated in the project from inception and brought in strategic and like-minded investors from Dubai and Switzerland to participate in the project’s capitalization and building process.
  • Finial Capital helped underwrite the initial business plan, source the land plot and define, in partnership with Institut Florimont of Geneva, the Academic Plan for government approval.
  • First-ever purpose-built building in a desert climate to meet Minergie standards of low energy consumption.
  • The school offers a multilingual K-12 IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum to around 1’200 students (enrolment as of June 2021), and is currently developing a Swiss Matura Program for its older students. Student numbers will eventually rise to a targeted total of about 2’200, of whom circa 350 may be boarding.
  • At SISD, a distinctive feature of school life is the diverse student body made up of more than 60 different nationalities. All students have the opportunity to become multilingual with the option of entering one of two bilingual programmes in either of the Swiss languages of French and German with English as the foundation, or studying an additional language within the English + stream.
  • The spacious and unique state-of-the-art campus with significant sports facilities and premium boarding houses is located near downtown Dubai.
